[GUIDE] Installing WHOIS in linux (Parrot/Kali/Mint/Ubuntu)

WHOIS is a search tool for finding the administrator of websites. It is a protocol that requests the registrar and the registrant details. WHOIS is shown about the information for a domain like,

  • IP Address
  • Registry Domain ID
  • Creation and Expiration date
  • Registrar
  • Domain Status
  • Registrant Name
  • Registrant Organisation
  • Email etc
Procedure:-
  • Open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) .
  • Type these following commands one by one 
  • (Sudo su) for root permission.

  • sudo apt-get install whois (whois will install automatically)                                                                    
  • Once it is installed you can search the website details                                                                          
  • For Example whois yourdomain.com
